This week has been one crazy, hectic week. Last Friday after Eli's one year old check up, he had an upper GI test and chest xrays. Eli has had a constant congestion/cough since about 4 months old. We went to see if it was acid reflux or asthma. This Monday, October 5th, the results came in.... he has acid reflux... really bad. I picked up all of his meds Monday evening... 2 reflux meds and nebulizer machine and meds for that.
We also have some upcoming appointments with a urologist and dermatologist. He has a couple spots on his back that the doc needs to see. Poor baby! He is falling apart!
Well.... then on Tuesday, I went for an ultrasound and at 6pm picked him up from daycare.... he had pinkeye! He got it from a little girl in his class whose momma kept denying it and said her daughter had puffy eyes and fever because she was teething. After daycare said she couldn't return without a doctors note to prove that... ended up she had pinkeye! ugh!
So Wednesday I was home with Eli and his pinkeye.
On Thursday he went back to daycare... they called at 9am and he was running a low grade fever of 99. The gave him some Tylenol and it went down. Later that evening, the fever popped up again. We also saw he had an upper tooth coming in... so at this point, we thought maybe it was teething... he was on meds for pinkeye, acid reflux, and all....maybe his body was freaking out.
The fever was gone Friday morning. Then around 11am, daycare called and said he was at 99 again. So they gave him Motrin... then at 3 it was 100.1 ! I left school to get him. At this point, I was also feeling yucky... sore throat, lost my voice, and slight congestion... I was afraid we both were coming down with something. So off Eli and I went to see his pediatrician yesterday afternoon... double ear infection! UGH!
Poor little Eli... he has had a rough week! He is on so much medicine and twice a day, he has to have breathing treatments on top of all the meds he is on. He screams and cries through the whole ordeal. The doc says that is actually good because it opens up his chest more for the medicine to go in. However, poor little Eli keeps throwing up...he will cough and up comes his milk... also, he burped this morning and out came his milk again. I am looking into taking him off of his milk-based formula and trying soy. The doc said some of the acid reflux could be an milk allergy. Which, in the end, makes sense. He started formula around 4 months old.
Well wish us luck on this new adventure in the Moffitt household. And please pray that our little man gets well soon. It has been one rough week for him!
