Helping Around the House

During our Christmas break, Eli decided that it was fun to vacuum the house. He has become quite the helper lately. He pulls clothes out of the dryer for us and now vacuums. Of course, when he is done, he wants to kick back... relax....and have a bottle of milk.

Striving for that "just right Christmas pic" is really hard! Especially with a one year old! We tried to do the pics ourselves this year and failed. In the end, we used a professional... and only used pics of Eli. This Christmas snuck up on us .... FAST! Next thing I knew, Christmas was a week away and we hadn't made our Christmas cards! This is a funny attempt of us doing it ourselves. We took about 100 pictures to get these.

Well, atleast it looks like we had fun doing it! haha

Eli decided it was "lets play chase" time!

When we set the camera on auto and looked back, we decided that the only person who needed to be in the picture was Eli.... WE took up the tree!!

In the beginning, we wrestled with Eli to get him with each parent... I was fighting him to keep the hat on... and to look at the camera...

So in the end... we used a professional photographer to snap that perfect Christmas photo!

Reindeer Shirts

This years craft with Eli was reindeer shirts. He made one for Momma, his girlfriend, and himself. Momma's class also made shirts to wear on their party day. They were a huge hit!

This is a bit out of order, but Eli had some friends over for Reindeer Shirt day right before Christmas. Maddie O and her mommy came over for breakfast and shirt designing. Here is Eli and Maddie looking out the window.... hmm... "where's Santa?"

Jaden and Chelette came over for shirt making but it was later in the afternoon. Eli was napping. We missed out on the pictures....but it was fun!!

Eli and Maddie are 6 months apart. She and Eli are good friends. They were once in the same daycare room together and starting soon, will be again. He will be moving up into the one year old room in January.

Stop! Shower Time!

I normally wouldn't post a pic of the boys in the shower, but this time I couldn't resist!

I cannot wait to see Aiden officially join the family and see all 3 of them together!

God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband and son.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Putting up "Momma's tree" takes a long time. Daddy is never too happy when he realizes that it is time to put up the tree. "Momma's Tree" is 12 ft tall and themed.... not family friendly with kid stuff on it. To add to the pain and suffering it takes to get Daddy to help put up the tree, we had to cut all of the pre-lit wires out and restring the tree. We purchased the tree 3 years ago and every year we lose more strands of lights. So this year, we decided to take out the lights and redo it. Note to self-- never buy a pre-lit tree!! The "Mommy Tree" then has several rolls of ribbon wrapped around it as well as garland that wraps around some of the sections. In the past couple of years, I have purchased more than enough of the ornaments for the tree. And guess what? I still got a couple new ones this year to add to it! The theme?? Woodsy... I guess you could call it. The "Momma Tree" is covered with feather balls, fake birds, bird nests, pheasant feathers sticking out, glass ornament balls, and wood or pine cone balls. Sounds crazy, but it is pretty! Jer loves the tree in the end, but really hates putting it together.... it took us several hours to get it just right (after spending 3 hours to take out the lights it came with)

At one point I had to help Daddy with something on the tree so I left Eli in the upstairs playroom. Don't worry-- he was within site and was in the gated area. He threw a fit because he wanted to help!

And so the tree adding began.... once we realized that the "Momma Tree" was not kid friendly with kid decor... we purchased Eli's tree! See old post for pic!

Elves and More

Jer volunteered at the Houston Elves and More this year. He has done it in the past and really enjoyed it. He plans to keep doing it every year.

Brookstone joined with other businesses and community volunteers to provide bikes for under privileged children.

We don't have a pic of Jer working, but he did manage to take a pic of his co worker, Rodney.
While Daddy was away, Mommy and Eli stayed at home and snuggled.

Happy Birthday, Papa James!

Happy Birthday! The Moffitt's celebrated Papa James' birthday on December 6th at Pappasito's. Eli was super excited to see Papa James, Grams, Uncle Jamie,

Lets Start December off with snow!

The first week of December we received snow! Eli didn't get to play in it at daycare but while at school that day, I took my class outside 4 times to play! It didn't stick but it sure was fun!

On Saturday, December 5th we woke to our first official frost.... heavy frost. By the time we woke, bundled up, and went out, it was starting to melt. We took Eli to the back yard to get a taste of it. He wasn't sure of the icy grass but then decided it wasn't too bad.

Let's Rewind to Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving 2009 was so much fun for the Moffitt family. We went to Lake Whitney for some good 'ol fashioned camping (well, sort of). Grams and Papa James were in their new motor home while both Michael and Tracy and Jer, Ter, & Eli had their own pop up campers. No tent camping for us!

The Waco bunch all came to the lake for Thanksgiving so our time was full of love, family, and fun. Eli spent quite a bit of time at the swings and giggled the whole time.

Eli slept in the bed with Mommy and Daddy. He is not a fan of sharing his sleeping space, so it was a challenge. However, with the king size bed, he found a little niche against the wall area and scooted far away from us.
When the weather was too cold to be outside for long, we played in Grams and Papa's motor home. We love that it is a great place for the kids to play when the weather doesn't cooperate.

There were times were we took Eli to the swings to relax him in our arms before nap time.

He really loved this snuggle time as much as we did.

Eli took some of the best naps in the camper. Momma was able to watch a couple movies on her laptop while he napped! (Sometimes she napped with him)

The Kraemer's/Moffitt's even played a little football over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cousin Tatum and her momma, Amie, joined us at the swings a couple of times.

Eli snuggled with Cousin Laurie... she even had a secret to tell and didn't until closer to Christmas. I think she is telling Eli here, though....haha!

Congrats to Laurie and Aarron on expecting their first little bundle of joy in July! We are all so happy for you! Children are such a blessing. Eli has really brought so much love and joy to our lives. Becoming a mother is beyond what I can explain...it is so wonderful! Sending you guys so much love!!

Even Papa James joined in on the fun at the swings. Watching him swing was like watching a little kid. His face lit up and he had a smile from ear to ear.

I realize that it is now January and I am just now posting our Thanksgiving. But I couldn't tell you all of our other adventures without getting this one in there. Life has been wonderfully packed with adventures. We decided the baby name as soon as we left Lake Whitney.... while in the car. We celebrated Papa James' 65th bday. We prepared for the Christmas holiday. We celebrated the Christmas holiday and rung in the New Year at home with neighbors. We watched Eli change and grow so fast the month of December. It was definitely his month of blossoming and becoming a little man. Baby Aiden is doing great and still expecting no complications like I had with Eli. My belly finally pooched out mid-December which is when I had to turn to all maternity clothes. He is kicking and pushing...and somersaulting as much as he can in the belly. We ordered the bedding, furniture, and are preparing for transitioning the guest room. This Moffitt household is growing in so many ways. Each day our love grows. Just when we think that we couldn't get any closer as a family, we do.
