Eli went to the Houston Zoo today! Daddy had a weekend trip dove hunting out near San Antonio, so Eli and Mommy set up a day of fun and adventure. Nanna, Uncle Will, Gretchen, and Hudson joined us at the zoo. We arrived around 10:30 or so and left around 4pm... it was a fun day!
Here is Eli at the beginning of the day.... smiles....
Hudson was ready to check out all the zebras, monkeys, and giraffes.
Gretchen and Hudson
Eli stayed in Nanna's arms most of the morning/early afternoon. Uncle Will started feeling sick so they had to leave.... but as long as Nanna was around, he wasn't interested in the stroller.... just wanted Nanna to hold him.

Hudson got a drink from the lions mouth.... man, I remember drinking out of that when I was a little kid. That was the coolest thing ever!
Eli loved watching the otters. There were two and they kept coming up to the glass next to Eli to check him out. Eli was very entertained.
One of the otters came out of the water to pose...

The prairie dogs were so cute!
Hudson climbed in the tunnel to pretend to be a prairie dog! Eli was not about to go in the tunnel. Nanna and I both tried. He cried and was very afraid. Oh well, Hudson entertained us! He was a wonderful Prairie Dog!
Eli was needing a nap... and Hudson wanted to ride on the carousel. So Eli hung out on the side lines. He even cried a little from the music, sounds of the kids, and the moving machine. Nanna had to turn him around so he couldn't see it. He was too scared?!...
it was a "smooth move" for Nanna to give him more snacks to make him feel better! Hudson (with Gretchen behind him) on the carousel!
