Ear Tubes Day

Eli had a bummer of a way to spend his St. Patrick's Day. He had an appointment at Texas Children's Hospital in downtown Houston at 7am to get tubes placed in his ears. Actually, he had an appointment at 9am, but we had to be there at 7 for prep and just in case we got to start the surgery earlier.

So all in all, Eli's day started at 5:30am. He is just like his momma, hates early mornings! I woke him up early so he could drink some sprite or water before our 6am deadline. Momma, Daddy, Nanna, and Eli were all out the door and in the car by 6am.

Sure enough, the docs had an opening at 8:30am and started Eli's surgery. Eli did very well in the surgery and was done in less than 15 minutes. The hardest part was handing Eli off to the doctor and nurses for them to take him back to put him under and do the procedure. What a scary thing for a momma to do! I wanted to be there by his side in case something went wrong! Of course, they prep you with all the horrible scenarios that could happen...so it makes things worse! In the end, Eli did great and was in recovery soon. He must have thought it was my fault because he only wanted Daddy and Nanna in recovery. He threw a fit when I held him and reached for Daddy. The nurse told me that once he settled down and drank some juice, we could go home. So out I went and in came Nanna so we could get him settled.

He slept the whole way home and snuggled in Nanna's arms for a couple hours when we got home. Then as the nurses described... wahla! a new kid appeared! Eli was a new man and all over the place, dancing, and singing, and being a hoot!

Eli is doing well and we hope the tubes work their magic and end our bouts of ear infections.

Great Moments with Papa James

On Saturday, March 6th, we traveled to Groves for Guy and Sarah Morris' wedding. Papa James and Eli played on the church playground after the ceremony.

The two really are peas in a pod!

After the wedding and reception we went to dinner near the refineries at a cool restaurant/bar/dance hall. The place was packed with people and we had a long wait! There was as seafood buffet as well as ordering from the menu. I now know why there was a long wait! YUM YUM! They had a live band there that night and Eli was a super fan of the cajun music! Papa James took him to the stage area and dance floor several times. Eli was all smiles! If you look closely, you will see Eli in Papa James' arms up by the stage.

New Stroller and Eli's Got Beat!

Here is our new stroller! Our boys will be riding in style! This is the Kolcraft Contours Options and it is awesome! Of course it is big, but what double stroller isn't? The seats can be changed to face one another, face opposite, or both in the same direction such as both front or both back. It has lots of cargo room underneath and is light weight compared to lifting the Graco strollers. Eli loves his new wheels already!
It also folds down pretty darn small compared to all the others we checked out.

Eli received a Mickey Mouse drum set from his friend Maddie O at the baby shower. He absolutely loves it! Thank you! What a great toy!

Aiden's Baby Shower

My school had a baby shower for Aiden on March 4th after school. We were super spoiled with receiving diapers, cash, gift cards, and our double stroller! The goodies for Aiden....
The double stroller was in a huge gift sack... so of course, I climbed on in!
The joke was to wear it in case my water broke in class!

This was a super cute diaper cake. It originally had 3 tiers but it fell apart on the way home... crazy driver! It was super cute because it was themed "Team Moffitt" with football stuff on it. I loved it... what a cute idea!

Grams In A Box

Grams came over one evening to see Eli and play in the fort.

Park with Daddy

Eli had a wonderful February 27th weekend!

After going to the park twice on Saturday, Daddy took him again on Sunday!

I had to work and prepare for maternity leave so it was an Eli and Daddy day.

What a day for Eli!

We have been super busy with work, getting things done around the house, as well as preparing for Aiden's arrival. We decided that we would have a weekend to really focus on Eli and let him have a good time. Of course, both Jer and I had to work that weekend so we took turns. The same day that I took Eli to Meyer Park for the pics in his new duds from Pops, Eli had another trip to a park. When we arrived home, Daddy was off of work so we took him to Mercer Park by the house. I really thought Eli was super tired by now because he had only a 20 minute nap that day.... boy was I wrong! When he saw Daddy, he was ready to go some more! By the end of the day, he had a huge smile on his face, and knew that he was loved.

35 weeks and counting.....

I went for my 35 week (35 weeks and 3 days) check up Tuesday, March 9th. All is going well with Baby Aiden. My belly measured right on track and I had gained one pound since our last appointment at 33 weeks. His heartbeat was 139 beats per minute. Dr. Hampton checked to see if I was dilated and sure enough, I AM!! I am dilated at 2 cm and effaced 30%. Of course my next question to the doc was "will he come soon?" but she was quick to say it before I asked. I can stay at 2cm for another 4 weeks or it could be that he decides next week to come....it all depends on what my body and the baby decide!

I have a feeling that he will be here sooner rather than later. Of course, I could be wrong! But the belly has completely gone with gravity and dropped. I feel more and more uncomfortable everyday and noticed that Aiden, who is normally kicking me non-stop, has slowed down quite a bit. Dr. Hampton said she is perfectly fine with Aiden arriving anytime after this Saturday and confident that he will be fine and healthy.

However, Eli will be getting tubes in his ears next Wednesday, March 17th, so I am hoping he will hold off until after that. Jer and I are preparing our hospital bags tonight and this weekend since Aiden may come soon.

We are all so excited for this little man to come into the world and join us on all of our adventures.

We originally went to Kiddie Kandids that is a part of BabiesRUs but when Eli and I got there, they had a sign up saying that they went out of business. BUMMER!

I was already going to take Eli to the park to play afterwards so I decided to try and get a couple good shots there....

Daddy's Surprise

Last week Daddy came home with a surprise for Mommy and Eli. He had called earlier and said he was going for a haircut... little did we know that he was going for a buzz cut!

In the end, we like it! It was a shocker for both and Eli loves to rub Daddy's head. I guess Jer gets the bonus on that!

The funny thing is, the day that Jer decided to shave off most of his hair, was the same day that Houston received snow....

I think the man is confused about the season.... tis the season to keep your head warm!

Welcome Baby Colton!

Maddie O is a big sister!

Penny, Jason, and Maddie Oelschlegel welcomed baby Colton Charles on February 11th.

Eli and Mommy went to visit the following weekend. Eli was not too enthused with the baby like Mommy was, but he sure was happy to see his friend, Maddie!

On Sunday, February 15th, we worked on getting Aiden's room ready for his arrival. His clothes were placed in his dresser, Daddy hung the curtains, Mommy put the bedding on the bed, and Eli checked out the comfy-ness of the bed. Eli enjoyed jumping in "Baboo's" bed.

Valentines Day 2010

The Moffitt household was pretty laid back for Valentines Day. We all slept in, had a big breakfast of homemade blueberry pancakes and sausage, and played all day. It was nice to relax as a family and focus on being together.
